Intervention: introduction of national maximum trading hours for all on‐licence (8 a.m.–4 a.m.) and off‐licence premises (7 a.m.–11 p.m.), abolishing existing 24‐hour licences, on 18 December 2013. Measurements: (1) Age‐specific incidence of hospitalization for assault on Friday, Saturday or Sunday from the national hospital discharge data set, excluding short‐stay emergency department admissions and (2) proportion of weekly police‐documented assaults occurring between 9 p.m. and 5.59 a.m., from NZ Police Demand and Activity data set. Findings: Following the restrictions, weekend hospitalized assaults declined by 11% [incidence rate ratio(IRR) = 0.89; 95% confidence interval (CI) = 0.84, 0.94], with the greatest reduction among 15–29‐year‐olds(IRR = 0.82; 95% CI = 0.76, 0.89). There was an absolute reduction (step change) of 1.8% (95% CI = 0.2, 3.5%) in the proportion of police‐documented assaults occurring at night, equivalent to 9.70 (95% CI = 0.10, 19.30) fewer night‐time assaults per week, out of 207.4. Conclusions: The 2013 implementation of national maximum trading hours for alcohol in NZ was followed by reductions in two complementary indicators of alcohol‐related assault, consistent with beneficial effects of modest nation‐wide restrictions on the late‐night availability of alcohol.]]> Tue 29 Aug 2023 15:06:37 AEST ]]> The merits of the civil action for Breach of Statutory Duty https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:9254 Thu 29 Mar 2018 11:49:09 AEDT ]]> A comprehensive analysis of plastics and microplastic legislation worldwide https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:36302 Thu 28 Oct 2021 12:35:36 AEDT ]]> The Australian labour market in 2004 https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:6 Sat 24 Mar 2018 11:02:45 AEDT ]]> Uniform evidence in Australia https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:22125 Sat 24 Mar 2018 10:07:17 AEDT ]]> Health experts reject industry-backed funding for alcohol research (letter) https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:7743 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:41:55 AEDT ]]> The Australian and New Zealand context https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:8608 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:35:41 AEDT ]]> Mental health, the law and human rights https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:8609 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:35:41 AEDT ]]> NSW Court of Appeal: is public liability created under OH&S legislation https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:8062 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:34:24 AEDT ]]> Legislation, policies and inclusive practices https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:13268 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:16:38 AEDT ]]> Computerised prescribing: assessing the impact on prescription repeats and on generic substitution of some commonly used antibiotics https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:10532 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:13:56 AEDT ]]> Towards a national OHS law https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:12060 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:11:16 AEDT ]]> Compulsory treatment and patient responsibility https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:21105 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:53:58 AEDT ]]> "Director's duty to promote the success of the company": should Hong Kong implement a similar provision? https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:16410 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:51:16 AEDT ]]> The mysterious productivity question https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:6739 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:49:47 AEDT ]]> Labor policy and civic values: the curious contradictions of right to work https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:6599 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:47:50 AEDT ]]> The Australian Fair Pay Commission: a new actor performing an old function https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:6722 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:46:01 AEDT ]]> Unfinished business: employment equality in Australia https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:3824 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:22:28 AEDT ]]> A game of snakes and ladders: negotiating the 'ups and downs' of endorsement as a nurse practitioner in Australia. https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:22539 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:14:47 AEDT ]]> A qualitative study exploring counselling for release of information to participants of a donor-assisted conception programme https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:24696 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:10:53 AEDT ]]>
